WATCH: Namira Salim becomes first Pakistani to conquer space
Namira Salim is also the first Pakistani to reach North and South Poles in 2007 and 2008, respectivelyWASHINGTON: Namira Salim on board Virgin Cosmic's VSS Solidarity space plane turned into the main Pakistani to arrive at space on Friday.
The space plane with five individuals on board including three travelers, a commandant, and a co-pilot took off from New Mexico's Spaceport America — the world's most memorable reason-fabricated business spaceport — with a sub-orbital direction.
After arriving at the assigned elevation, VSS Solidarity was let out of the mothership with travelers encountering a few minutes of "weightlessness" and afterward getting back to Earth with a perspective in the world's curve against the scenery of space as they won't arrive at the circle.
Salim — part of the Cosmic 04, Virgin Cosmic's fourth mission in 2023 — was among the initial 100 to buy Virgin Cosmic's ticket in 2006 for $200,000. The expense of her process has since expanded to $450,000.
Among others on the flight were Trevor Beattie, an English promoting proficient, and Ron Rosano, a US cosmology teacher alongside officer Nicola Pecile and Pakistani-Canadian pilot Jameel Janua.
Janjua — with more than 4,000 flying hours in north of 45 vehicles — was joined by Kelly Latimer and CJ Sturckow in flying the space plane. The two vehicles (the mothership and the VSS Solidarity) got back to Spaceport America after the mission.
Recently, Virgin Cosmic uncovered that it had deferred its impending space travel industry trip by one day, to Friday, October 6.
Salim — the pioneer and executive of the not-for-profit Space Trust — is a long-lasting globe-trotter and became the principal Pakistani to visit both the North Pole in April 2007 and the South Pole in January 2008.
On Wednesday, Guardian Head of the State Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar praised Namira Salim for turning into the first lady from Pakistan to go to space.
"By demonstrating their backbone as pioneers in various fields, Pakistani ladies are doing right by the entire country," Kakar composed on his X record, wishing her karma.
